1. Question paging/Question to show

The amount of questions showed per product on the loading of the page. The visualization order depends on the date of publication, so the first questions showed will be the most recent ones.
Setting zero as value of the option, the plugin will show all the discussions about the product.

The amount of answers showed per page within the question. Set the value to zero if you want to show all the answers in a single page. On the contrary, if set to a different value, paging will be automatically activated to let users read the other answers.

4. Show on product tabs

By default, the complete list of questions and answers is shown right inside the specific tab in product detail page.

However, you can change this behavior. By enabling “Show on product tabs”field from plugin settings dashboard, tab will be removed from all products and the list of questions and answers will be shown only where you inserted the shortcode. [ywqa_questions].

5. FAQ mode

When activated, users cannot add new questions and answers about the products of the shop.
Only the administrator of the shop will be able to create new questions and answers from the Questions & Answers custom post type; you can find it in the main menu of the WordPress administrator panel.

It allows registered users to upvote and downvote one or more questions of the shop products.

6. Notification

  • New question notification: a notification email is sent to the administrator when a new question about a product of the shop is added.
  • New answer notification: activating this option, a checkbox will be added in the question form. In this way, users can decide to receive a notification email each time their question will receive a new answer.

7. Vote answers

Activating the ‘Vote answers’ options, the registered users of your shop will be able to vote the available answers of the products, specifying whether they found them useful or not.

8. Inappropriate content

This option lets users to report an aswer whose content is cosidered inappropriate.
If activated, the feature can be enabled for all the users, or only for the registered ones.
The answer will be automatically hidden when it will receive the same number of reports as the one indicated in the “Hiding threshold” options.

The answer will always be availble fot he administrator in the Inappriopriate Content section, inside the WordPress “Questions and Answers” menu entry.
To reactivate it, simply click on “Is appropriate”.

9. Answer excerpt

The characters to show as preview of the last answer for a question.
To show the whole content of the answer, set the value to zero.
Otherwise, users will have to click on the “Read More” button to show the whole answer.

10. Anonymous mode

The Anonymous mode option lets you hide the name of the users that have added a question or an answer in the page of your site.

11. Ask customers for an answer

The “Ask customers for an answer” option allows you to send an email to the users to ask for an answer for a question about a product they have previously bought.
You can send this request to all the users that have purchased that particular item, or to some of them, indicating a specific percentage with the Sample size option. In this way, for each new question, a part of the interested users will be randomly selected.The email contains two links to let users states if they don’t want to receive further email about the related product, or if they don’t want to receive any more emails about all the products they have purchased.

12. reCaptcha

reCaptcha system refers to Google “No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA”. In order to work correctly, it require two data: reCaptcha site key and reCaptcha secret key. Follow these instructions to configure the reCaptcha correctly.First of all, register an account on Google, in case you did not have one yet, go to Google reCaptcha page and click on the button Get reCAPTCHA.

Once logged into your Google account, register a new site for the application and add the required data.

  • Labels: identifying labels of the reCaptcha you are activating.
  • Domains: list of all domains where Google reCaptcha system has been activated.
  • Owners: email addresses of all users, except you, that can access reCaptcha system settings that you are now registering.

Once entered all data and clicked on “Register”, you will be redirected to a new page, where you will be able to find all data required by the plugin.

Once entered data into “Site Key” and “Secret Key” in plugin option panel, enable reCaptcha and whoever wants to enter a new question or answer to your site will have to prove they are not robots.

Custom post type “Questions and Answers”

All the questions and answers of the store products are collected in the Questions and Answers custom post type.
The list contains both the questions and answers of the users, and those written b the administrators of the store.
Each of them can be deleted or modified in any moment.

If you want to add a new question, click on Add New.

Write the text of the question in the top part of the page and select the product to which you want to link it.

To answer to a question, click on the question and write the answer.

In the question list, the edited answers by administrators are highlighted as showed below.

The premium version of the plugin offers a screen with more information about questions and answers of the products, showing positive and negative votes, and if there are inappropriate reports for the answers.

The inappropriate contents removed from the shop are collected in the Inappropriate content voice menu.

To show contents previously flagged as inappropriate, you just have to click on is appropriate.

Once displayed again to the users, it won’t be necessary to have again a certain number of reports s inappropriate: right after the first one, it will be hidden immediately.
